This detailed map focuses on the distribution of a complex array of late Cenozoic alluvial, playa, eolian, and hillslope deposits that comprise the surficial geology of Ivanpah Valley, Nevada. Bedrock units are mapped in a general way that emphasizes basic lithologic composition and stratigraphic position. The mapped area spans approximately 360 square miles and includes all of three internally drained basins that lie in the Mohave Desert south-southwest of Las Vegas, Nevada.
