This 12-month calendar (January through December 2016) features a different geologic topic each month: Lamoille Canyon, Esmeralda Badlands, Spheroidal Weathering, Flash Floods, Caves, Nightingale Mountains, Hot Springs and Geothermal Energy, Lunar Crater Volcanic Field, Pyroclastic-Fall Tuffs, Tule Springs Fossil Beds, Carson Range Faults, Spring Valley State Park, and Geocaching and EarthCaching.
This calendar is full of beautiful photos highlighting Nevada’s scenic wonders and also includes interesting facts about Nevada geology that really make you want to go and visit those sites.

Calendar Photo Contest for 2017
Do you have an amazing photo of Nevada geology that you would like to see in the 2017 Nevada Geology Calendar? Enter the photo contest for the 2017 calendar!
Here are the details for the 2017 calendar contest:
- Deadline for entries is May 31, 2016.
- Photos need to be taken in Nevada. A location description and/or GPS coordinates should accompany submissions along with description.
- High-quality, high-resolution photo files of at least 300 dpi are required for quality printing.
- You may enter as many photos as you wish.
- Email submissions to Jack Hursh (jhursh@unr.edu).
- NBMG Cartographers will make the final decision on the winning photos.
- Prizes will be awarded for first-, second-, and third-place winners.
