Report: In addition to the database, an HTML file is provided of all the records in the database, in order by unique number. The following fields were excluded from these records: Meridian, Zone, NAD.

Bibliography: The references in the bibliography include all those from Garside (1973, 1979). Some of these are general references on the geology or mineralogy of uranium and thorium from the 1960s. References after 1973 are commonly only those cited in the database, either as a specific reference on the mineral occurrence, or as a reference to more general geologic data. Probably the best online resource for finding complete bibliographic citations for the more obscure literature of uranium and thorium is GeoRef (Cambridge Scientific Abstracts).

Bulletin 81: A PDF file of the text and map of NBMG Bulletin 81 (Garside, 1973) is included in the zip folder.

Open-File Report 79-2: A PDF file of the text of NBMG Open-File Report 79-2 (Garside, 1979) is also included.

This OF06-19 database supersedes the occurrence descriptions in Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology (NBMG) Bulletin 81 (Garside, 1973) and those in a partial update of that bulletin, NBMG Open-File Report 79-2 (Garside, 1979). However, Garside (1973) also included introductory text, figures, and descriptions of uranium and thorium minerals. With the occurrence descriptions from the bulletin and open-file report as a starting point, we added descriptions of new occurrences and made many additions, corrections, and improvements to the older descriptions. New information came mainly from geologic literature published after 1973, with some data from new field examinations.
