Reactions with rocks in Nevada by Daniel M. Sturmer, Daphne D. LaPointe, Jonathan G. Price, and Ronald H. Hess. This report investigates the potential for disposal of CO2 by reaction with rocks in Nevada. There are sufficiently large volumes of basalt and gabbro to consider reaction of those rocks with CO2 from coal-fired power plants, but in Nevada there are not sufficient quantities of other potential rock types for such reactions.
